FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION

Philippe AUDY - Like many of his generation, Philippe left Corrèze and settled in the Entre-deux-Mers region in 1881, at Château Jonqueyres, starting a long line of winegrowers and merchants...

Jean-Baptiste BOUROTTE – After graduating from business school (HEC Paris) in 1996 and enjoying an international career with luxury jeweller Cartier, Jean-Baptiste returned to his first love. He applies rigour and attention to detail to achieve the precision, purity and freshness that goes into making today’s great wines.

Jean-Baptiste AUDY - In 1906, while his sister was the stewardess of Jonqueyres and his brother worked at Château Clinet, Jean-Baptiste created his own merchant firm on the quays of Libourne, still a reference today in the world of fine wines (Ref. JB.AUDY website). He went on to purchase beautiful terroirs in Pomerol, St-Emilion and Bordeaux.

Pierre BOUROTTE – Aged 18, Pierre took over management of the various vineyards and ushered them into an era of intensive research into quality. Today, the cellars of our châteaux hold 40 award-winning vintages and outstanding wines.

Germaine AUDY and Olivier BOUROTTE - By this marriage, two families from Correze ... and Pomerol are united. Olivier's parents live and develop the Château Bonalgue which they acquired in 1926.

“150 years of research, work, precision and the certainty that it all starts with the vine.”

Five generations of my family have shared the same desire and passion over the years, drawing on the specific characteristics of each terroir and plot, adapting to the weather and each vintage... trying, striving, sometimes doubting but always making progress. Our endeavour is to create a great wine, working with nature and cultivating the vines in an ongoing quest for healthy, balanced grapes while preserving the land.  Our family philosophy has spanned decades, driving us to work hard and achieve high standards over so many years.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Promoting biodiversity
A healthy ecosystem is a well-balanced one. Our vineyards are home to beehives, bird and bat boxes, and we also plant hedgerows... all of which promote biodiversity and enhance natural defences. Our approach has been monitored and validated, with all our estates achieving Level 3 High Environmental Value certification. Since 2021, Clos du Clocher and Château Monregard La Croix have also been converting to organic agriculture.
